On Sunday 1st of March I went to London and came back to Exeter yesterday. @Philipp: Again, thank you very much indeed for your hospitality at your home! I had a really nice time!
Just arrived at 1.15 p.m. on Sunday at Victoria Coach Station I walked along the Themse River and was joined by a nice skyline of London. The last time I was in London there wasn't the London Eye as it was in 1996. I had really bad Bubbles (?) on my feet, when I finally arrived at Philipp's house in the evening.
On Monday I joined Philipp and his flat mate on the way to their University, which is close to the Royal Court of Justice. I went inside the Court and had a look for the cases which are dealt with in the morning. Unfortunately I couldn't joined any judicial proceeding due to the fact that I had an appointment with the vice president of the English-German Law Society at 12.30 for lunch and there wasn't enough time left. The law firm of him was close to the Royal Court of Justice as well. We had lunch in a huge old building of the 15th century, where the barristers and soliciters use to have lunch. I had fish with banana on the top, small potatoes, tomatoes and a white sauce (really yummy!). For dessert I had an english pie with sauce. While drinking the cappuccino, we went through the hall and he explained me the historical details of the building. Very interesting and impressive! Back to his law firm he gave me some contacts which I can apply to. Though he couldn't help me further with regard to my career in England, I really enjoyed the time.
Afterwards I went through the city to the Piccadilly Circus, China Town, etc.
At 5 p.m. I met Philipp and Fabian again in front of the University and we went to a seminar, which was held by a German Professor about the Global Financial Crisis and possible solutions for that problem. This Professor tested me in my first Exam in 2004. He even remembered that and we had a nice talk afterwards in a pub, where we were invited of the organisation which organised this seminar. We had some wine and some appetisers.
Tuesday, 3rd of March
On Tuesday I went to the shopping streets of London (Regent Street, Oxford Street, Knightsbridge). I also met Paddington Bear at the Paddington Station and walked through the Hyde Park. At 5 p.m. I took the bus back to Exeter, where I arrived at 9 p.m.
